Champions Cup : Cyril Baille de retour avec Toulouse

Le pilier gauche international de Toulouse Cyril Baille est de nouveau opérationnel, près de six mois après une grave blessure à la jambe gauche, et postule pour le match de la deuxième journée de Champions Cup dimanche à Exeter.

Baille (31 ans, 52 sélections) n’a plus joué depuis le 21 juin et la demi-finale du Top 14 contre La Rochelle, lors de laquelle il avait été victime d’une rupture des ligaments de la cheville et d’une fracture du péroné.

Il a participé normalement mardi à la première séance collective de la semaine sur les terrains d’entraînement du stade Ernest-Wallon et pourrait reprendre dès ce week-end, a fait savoir l’encadrement toulousain.

Ménagé dimanche pour la réception victorieuse de l’Ulster (61-21) lors de la journée inaugurale de Champions Cup, en raison d’une douleur à une épaule, le troisième ligne François Cros est lui aussi de retour.

Son compère de la troisième ligne Anthony Jelonch, remis de la commotion qui l’avait privé du dernier match, est en revanche incertain pour le déplacement à Exeter car il ressent toujours des tensions dans le dos et les épaules.

La participation du talonneur international Peato Mauvaka sera, elle, soumise au protocole de retour au jeu après qu’il a subi contre l’Ulster une commotion détectée par son protège-dents connecté.

Le centre tongien Pita Ahki (cuisse), le deuxième ligne australien Richie Arnold (épaule), le troisième ligne Alban Placines (genou) et le pilier droit néo-zélandais Nepo Laulala (tendon d’Achille) ont déclaré forfait.
