Six Nations U20 : la liste des Bleuets pour préparer l'Angleterre

Une grande partie de l'équipe vainqueur du pays de Galles samedi soir ira en Angleterre pour la deuxième journée du Tournoi des Six Nations 2025 U20. (x.com @FranceRugby)

La Fédération française de rugby a annoncé ce dimanche après-midi le groupe de joueurs U20 qui va travailler cette semaine en vue du deuxième match du Tournoi des Six Nations de la catégorie.

Les Bleuets, vainqueurs éclatants samedi soir du pays de Galles (63-19), se déplacent vendredi en Angleterre, à Bath pour défier la nation dominante en U20 l’an dernier. Les Anglais ont en effet remporté le Tournoi et le Championnat du monde en 2024 en battant la France en finale.

Le sélectionneur Cédric Laborde a reconduit une grande partie 31 joueurs qui ont préparé la première levée. Il a effectué six retouches : Quentin Algay, Baptiste Britz, Elia Masi et Charles Kante Samba chez les avants, Jean Cotarmana’ch et Oliver Cowie côté trois-quarts, rejoignent Marcoussis en lieu et place d’Upaleto Feao, Samuel Jean Christophe (avants), Nolann Donguy, Baptiste Tilloles et Melvyn Rates (arrières).

Le staff va donc travailler avec 32 joueurs, 19 avants et 13 trois-quarts. Une légère inflexion puisque les U20 comptaient 17 avants et 14 trois-quarts la semaine dernière, signe de l’âpreté du combat auquel ils s’attendent face aux jeunes Anglais aux gabarits déjà impressionnants.

« Pour préparer ce match, nous avons décidé de reconduire une grande partie du groupe victorieux hier, tout en procédant à quelques ajustements pour apporter de la fraîcheur et répondre aux exigences du prochain adversaire », avance Laborde dans le communiqué de la FFR.

Après la démonstration réussie face aux Gallois, spécialement en deuxième période, « l’objectif est de continuer sur cette dynamique positive, renforcer nos connexions et peaufiner les détails qui feront la différence face à une équipe anglaise toujours très compétitive ».

L’Angleterre, pour son entrée en lice dans la compétition, est allée gagner en Irlande (19-3) malgré un carton rouge reçu dès la 13^e minute par le joueur du Racing 92 Junior Kpoku. Elle a même évolué à 13 contre 15 dans la foulée, mais n’a concédé que trois points tout en en marquant six, signe de la domination de la relève anglaise.

Not sure I agree with these cliches. The Scots and Irish used to be renowned for passionate performances. The English (anglo-saxons) more so for forward structure while the Welsh known for attacking flair. Argentina are a historically consistant, high standard team.

I don’t believe France lost emotional control against England. I believe that England played well enough to turn the match into a slog in which they got the last blow in.

The Portugal-Spain match recently was a really interesting battle. Portugal had to rely on flair to overcome a strong performance by Spain, but they couldn’t, the structure, method and preparation of their Latin neighbours was way too much.
