RC Toulon : Jean-Baptiste Gros absent à Perpignan

Le pilier gauche de Toulon Jean-Baptiste Gros, victime d’une déchirure aux ischio-jambiers lors du match du XV de France face à l’Argentine, est absent pour le prochain match de son club à Perpignan, a expliqué son entraîneur jeudi.

Gros, titulaire lors des trois matchs du XV de France en novembre, était sorti dès les premières minutes de jeu contre l’Argentine après un déblayage dangereux du talonneur Julian Montoya.

« Il passera de nouveaux examens lundi ou mardi pour vérifier qu’il n’y a rien de plus grave car pour l’instant il y avait beaucoup de sang au niveau de sa blessure », a expliqué en conférence de presse le manager varois Pierre Mignoni, au sujet du joueur de 25 ans (32 sélections), sans se prononcer sur la durée de son indisponibilité.

Entre repos et blessures, beaucoup d’absents au RCT

L’ailier Gabin Villière profite d’une semaine de vacances après avoir participé aux deux victoires de l’équipe de France contre la Nouvelle-Zélande (30-29) et les Pumas (37-23) et ne sera pas non plus du déplacement dans les Pyrénées-Orientales.

L’international fidjien Jiuta Wainiqolo est également en congé, et les Italiens Gianmarco Lucchesi et Paolo Garbisi sont laissés au repos.

Le pilier droit Beka Gigashvili fera, lui, son retour dans le groupe pour ce match de la 11e journée après une blessure aux adducteurs et pourrait disputer sa première rencontre de la saison.

En revanche, Leicester Fainga’anuku (côtes) et Duncan Paia’aua (ischio-jambiers) sont toujours à l’infirmerie, tout comme Ben White, touché à un mollet avec la sélection de l’Écosse et absent entre quatre et six semaines.
