Transferts : Richie Gray vers le Japon

L’ancien 2e ligne de Castres et de Toulouse Richie Gray s’est engagé avec le Toyota Verblitz, en Japan Rugby League One, en vue de la saison à venir au Japon.

Les Glasgow Warriors, son club il y a encore quelques jours, ont annoncé début octobre que l’international écossais, 35 ans, quitterait le pays fin novembre. Sans en dire plus sur sa future destination.

Passé par la Premiership, le Top 14 et l’URC (United Rugby Championship), l’ainé des frères Gray va donc connaître un nouveau pays et un nouveau championnat en décembre, quand débutera le championnat japonais.

    Richie Gray privé d’adieux au Scotstun

    Glasgow effectuera une mini-tournée en Afrique du Sud lors des deux prochaines journées d’URC, contre les Sharks et les Stormers.

    Il s’agira des dernières sorties du joueur, capé 77 fois avec sa sélection, avec les Warriors avant que le championnat ne fasse une pause au mois de novembre durant la fenêtre internationale.

    Non convoqué la semaine dernière à l’occasion de la victoire à domicile de Glasgow Warriors sur les Zebre, Richie Gray n’aura donc pas l’occasion de faire ses adieux au Scotstun, le stade des Warriors.

    Le Toyota Verblitz entamera sa campagne de JRLO contre les Kubota Spears Funabashi Tokyo-Bay le 22 décembre.
