This is the poorest performance by the New Zealand U20s team in our history. The match was marred by numerous fundamental errors and poor decision-making, effectively eliminating themselves from the contest. France only needed to show up and apply minimal pressure for our team to falter at every opportunity. The New Zealand Rugby Football Union (NZRFU) needs to critically evaluate their selection policies. The current approach, seemingly influenced by politics and provincial bias, has not been effective for some time. It is crucial to prioritise player selection based on performance and merit or this outcome will repeat itself again. Wakeup NZRFU!
The semi-final a referee disgrace.
The referee tried his best to keep NZ in the game. After the head clash by the NZ wing, the play was brought back, but the wrongly yellow carded French player was not brought back on the field. A lot of very poor descisions in favour of NZ. 😭
FOR ME FRANCE THOUGH LEADING CRACKED UNDER DISCIPLINE TO CONCEDE THE ROUND TWO MATCH SO NZ UN-2O JUST HAVE TO KEEP COOL IN FIRST HALF AND WAIT FOR THEM TO LOSE IT AGAIN OR BETTER STILL EXERT SCOREBOARD PRESSURE OF THEIR OWN AND WAIT FOR REACTION! …….FOR JONO GIBBES KIWI LEGEND! GOOD LUCK NZ U20’S LEGENDS!
