New Wellington hooker Asafo Aumua has been lighting up highlight reels with ball in hand so far in the Mitre 10 Cup, but he showed he’s no slouch when it comes to tackling either.

It was part of an impressive 34-10 win for the Lions over Waikato in Hamilton on Saturday afternoon, which lifted them to a commanding lead in the Championship division.

Meanwhile, the NZ under-20’s powerhouse Aumua has been rumoured to be a shoe-in for the All Blacks end-of-year tour, and eventual back-up for fellow Wellingtonian Dane Coles.
