Beale experiment officially over as Cheika names side

Under-fire Australia coach Michael Cheika has restored Bernard Foley to the Wallabies team for Saturday’s clash with Argentina.

Cheika’s men require victory in South America to avoid finishing bottom of the four-team Rugby Championship for the first time after a poor campaign, losing to New Zealand twice and South Africa once as well as the reverse fixture against the Pumas.

And in a bid to return his side to their best form, the coach has brought in Foley at fly-half, moving Kurtley Beale to inside centre after a poor performance against the Sprinboks last week.

Matt Toomua drops to the bench, where Cheika has named nine players, with one of Rory Arnold or Rob Simmons set to drop out ahead of the weekend.

Tolu Latu, in the squad in place of injured hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau, is also among the replacements, alongside Caleb Timu. Brandon Paenga-Amosa misses out.

Argentina, meanwhile, name the same forward line that lost to the All Blacks but make two changes to the backs.

Matias Orlando is in at centre, while the fit-again Ramiro Moyano will play at wing, with Bautista Delguy himself now set for a short lay-off. Santiago Garcia Botta and Santiago Gonzalez Iglesias join the replacements.
