Les Anglais ont comblé une bonne partie de leur retard et étaient revenus à un essai transformé juste avant l’heure de jeu (26-19, 58e). De quoi inquiéter un peu la Rabine, qui avait encore en tête la remontada de l’UBB alors que le RCV menait 29-0 à la pause.

Mais les Vannetais apprennent vite, et cette fois ils n’ont pas craqué. Au contraire, ils ajoutaient deux essais supplémentaires (Chateau 65e, Blanchard 71e) pour éloigner la menace et faire chavirer de bonheur toute une région de plus en plus folle de son équipe.

What are you on ? Ethan Blackadder has been in outstanding form, 26 tackles against the Blues last week. The injury is not serious and he will get in the All Blacks. He has not missed many games for the Crusaders this year at all.

These players are “promising Super Rugby players” Paul, they are SR stars and performing far above the current All Blacks and perhaps even better than they ever had in SR before. Now that is a big difference.

Haha both pretty blunt eh, I guess that’s how you have to be when you hear things like Fihaki is already written in as a squad member.

Not wanting to knock the guy of course, he actually played some really good rugby for a quite a few weeks on end for the Crusaders last year I thought (and what I think is reality of course), maybe more consistent this year, but you can’t answer anything other than “No” to that question if he’s not even playing better than when he didn’t get selected.

Nick Bishop has made me read Moneyball, and the perception I get with Razor is that Fihaki is his Billy Beane. He is the closest picture he can see to a Isreal Dagg replacement. They just can’t marry that picture with his performances unfortunately, which is obviously a really bad state for the an All Black selection panel to be. Perhaps Razor should show his ingenuity and assign the job to a head selector like Grant Fox!

No, his stats are all pretty terrible.

I think he has the least amount of hit ups though, which means he’s either passing or kicking the ball instead, but even that is such a big difference that it might be too much, and too big of a sign he’s not comfortable carrying into contact.

Performance wise Fihaki is on about par with Sam Gilbert (who’s done a lot of good things too), and only really ahead of players like the Blues Corey Evans or Cole Forbes.
