Clermont hit back to deny Stormers debut win

Clermont roared back in the second half to open their Heineken Champions Cup campaign with a 24-14 victory over the Stormers in France.

The three-time finalists trailed the United Rugby Championship title-holders 14-3 at half-time, with Deon Fourie scoring the Stormers’ first try in European competition and a further nine points coming from the tee.

However, John Dobson’s tournament debutants could not add to their haul after the interval and Clermont recovered with tries from Alex Newsome and Alivereti Raka, while Jules Plisson took his tally for the match to 14 points.

Your want real facts? You havnt beaten NZ in NZ for years. Remember 2023? Rassie sent his well rested guys so he could teach NZ a lesson. He, and SA, got a hiding.

NZ may not be top of there game atm but it was only a combined 10 points in 2 tests last year in SA , and as usual, you needed Ref help to rule a props try as OK

They’re both good enough. I’d be interested to see how Razor picks his TRC squad of 36. Blackadder was called into the FRA series as cover but declined for medical reasons. Leicester Fainga'anuku a certainty imo.

Very true. I just live in a country where nrl and afl are way more popular and neither has a real international competition. Rwc being the 3rd biggest sporting event shows how global it is! I definitely don’t want to lose that.
