Harlequins 'riddled with errors' and physically 'weren’t at the races'

By PA

Harlequins head coach Danny Wilson accepted his side “weren’t at the races” as they finished scoreless for the first time in over a decade in a 14-0 defeat to Gloucester at a sold-out Kingsholm.

Error-ridden Quins were frustrated by resolute defence from their determined opponents but will reflect on numerous mistakes as none of their stars made any impact in an atypically lacklustre performance from them.

Josh Hathaway and Jack Clement scored Gloucester’s first-half tries, both of which Santiago Carreras converted, and it proved enough for victory.

Wilson said: “We were riddled with errors and physically we weren’t at the races, especially in the first half as Gloucester clearly had the competitive edge at that stage.

“The second half was an improvement but overall we gave away 23 turnovers and made 15 handling errors – but despite that we still had many opportunities to score, which we blew.

“I have not seen us make that many individual errors for some time so we need to address the problem ahead of next week’s important game with Leicester at Twickenham.

“We had no problem with our attack last week, scoring 53 points against Stormers, and we are capable of going on long winning runs as we’ve done it before.”

It was a totally different story in the opposition camp as Gloucester won a third consecutive league match for the first time in over two years.

Their head coach George Skivington said: “Our defence was outstanding as to ‘nil’ any Premiership side is massive, especially one as good as Quins.

“The boys are now finding the right balance between attack and defence but our defensive set in the first 10 minutes set the tone for the rest of the match.

“Quins wanted to play attacking rugby just like us but we got on top of them today, although we left four or five tries out there.

“It’s now benefitting us that the senior leadership group are making the right calls in terms of game management, which is crucial in winning the game.”

Captain Lewis Ludlow added: “It was a very fast game as we are just getting the hang of our new game plan where the ball is in play far more.

“But our defensive effort proved to be crucial as we’ve conceded 30 points at home in nearly all our fixtures this season apart from Edinburgh last week.”

It was, perhaps the worst performance I've ever seen from Quins. Also a very un-Quins performance because usually, when they lose, it's because they gave up too many tries even though they scored enough. Haven't been blanked in 10 years. Didn't even let Gloucester get that many, they just simple could not get the ball across the line, couldn't hold on to it really at all.

Leinster cleanse palette with record URC scoreline against Zebre

My name is Solenn Bonnet, and I am a single mother navigating the challenges of raising my two-year-old child while trying to make ends meet. I came across a trading platform that promised astonishing daily profits of 18%. The allure of such a high return on investment was too tempting to resist, and I found myself drawn into cryptocurrency trading. Excited by the prospect of financial freedom, I invested a significant amount of my savings, totaling over 5.7 BTC. However, what started as a hopeful venture quickly turned into a nightmare. The platform was a scam, and I lost everything I had invested. The emotional toll of this loss was immense; I felt devastated and helpless, struggling to provide for my child and keep up with my bills. In my desperate attempt to recover my funds, I sought help from various recovery experts. Unfortunately, I encountered numerous fraudulent individuals who claimed they could help me retrieve my lost money. Each time I reached out, I was met with disappointment and further scams, which only deepened my despair. Last year was one of the most challenging periods of my life, filled with anxiety and uncertainty about my financial future. Feeling overwhelmed and at a loss, I confided in a close friend from church about my situation. She listened compassionately and shared her own experiences with financial difficulties. Understanding my plight, she introduced me to Tech Cyber Force Recovery, a group of skilled hackers known for their expertise in recovering lost funds. Skeptical yet hopeful, I decided to reach out to them as a last resort. Their services came at a higher cost, but my friend generously offered to help me with a partial payment. I was amazed by how quickly they responded and began the recovery process. Their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire ordeal. To my relief, they successfully recovered more than I had lost to those heartless scammers. This was truly transformative, and I felt a sense of relief and gratitude that I hadn’t felt in a long time. I strongly encourage anyone who has faced similar challenges or fallen victim to scams to reach out to Tech Cyber Force Recovery. If you’ve invested in a fraudulent platform like I did, they are highly capable of helping you reclaim your hard-earned money. Don’t lose hope; there is a way to recover what you’ve lost.
