England confirm monstrous Autumn Nations Series schedule
England Rugby have revealed a stacked Autumn Nations Series for November 2024, with Steve Borthwick’s side set take on three southern hemisphere heavyweights in Twickenham.
England will play New Zealand, Australia and South Africa across three successive weekends in what is sure to be a gruelling test of their mettle.
There will also be a third game against an as-yet-unnamed opponent.
“The billing against southern hemisphere heavyweights New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, as well as a final opponent yet to be determined, begins with an encounter against the All Blacks,” the RFU said in a statement. “The ever-anticipated fixture is confirmed for Saturday 2 November 2024, the nations resuming their rivalry in south-west London after an entertaining 25-all draw in 2022.
“The side continue their autumn schedule with a meeting against the Australia team (w/e 9 November), before meeting South Africa (w/e 16 November) with the final game to be played on the weekend of 23 November. ”
In the meantime, England have the small matter of a Rugby World Cup quarter-final against either the Wallabies above or – as is more likely to be the case – Fiji, who could seal their quarter-final spot with a win over Portugal today as Pool D wraps up.
England looked far from convincing as they limped past a spirited Samoa side 18-17 in Lille yesterday evening, even if the men in white completed the pool stage unbeaten.
