England star Cadan Murley returns as Harlequins make 4 changes for Sale
Harlequins have recalled winger Cadan Murley as part of four changes in total for Saturday’s Premiership meeting with Sale Sharks at the Twickenham Stoop.
Head coach Danny Wilson also brings Luke Northmore, Danny Care and Irne Herbst into the starting XV. Alex Dombrandt will captain the side from No.8 as the Londoners look to bounce back from a humiliating 62-0 drubbing sustained at the hands of Irish heavyweights Leinster at Croke Park in the Investec Champions Cup.
Murley starts on the left wing in his first appearance since a foot injury occurred during his England debut in the Six Nations opener against Ireland on 1 February. Murley managed to complete the 80 minutes, with the full extent of his injury becoming clear after the final whistle.
It will be a full 11 weeks since he last played when he takes to field in West London on Saturday against Alex Sanderson’s men. Nick David shifts across to the right to accommodate the 25-year-old finisher.
Northmore replaces Andre Esterhuizen at inside centre. Care is preferred to Will Porter at scrum-half, with Porter completing return-to-play protocols after a concussion sustained in the Champions Cup loss to Montpellier.
Herbst partners Chandler Cunningham-South in the second row. The rest of the pack is unchanged, with loosehead Fin Baxter and tight-head Titi Lamositele either side of hooker Jack Walker.
Wilson has opted for a 5-3 split on the bench. Prop Nathan Jibulu is in line for his first outing since November following shoulder surgery, while back-row Tom Lawday and scrum-half Lewis Gjaltema also return to the match-day squad.
