Fabien Galthie set to call Posolo Tuilagi into France squad - report

Perpignan's French number lock Posolo Tuilagi (C) is tackled by Oyonnax' French prop Tommy Raynaud (R) during the French Top 14 rugby union match between USA Perpignan and Union Sportive Oyonnax Rugby at the Aime-Giral stadium in Perpignan, southern France, on January 6, 2024. Perpignan’s 19-year-old lock Posolo Tuilagi is set to receive his first call-up into the France senior squad this week alongside two other U20 world champions, according to French outlet Midi Olympique

As Les Bleus prepare for the opening match of the Guinness Six Nations against Ireland on February 2 in Marseille, the 149kg second row is set to be drafted into the squad alongside Pau fullback Théo Attissogbe and Montpellier back row Lenni Nouchi, who both won the World Rugby U20 Championship in South Africa last year alongside Tuilagi.

Stade Francais fly-half Leo Barre is also in line to link up with Fabien Galthie’s squad, while five other players are reportedly returning to their clubs this weekend for the latest round of Top 14 action.

Galthie can call upon an additional eight players into his camp, although they have to be from separate clubs and cannot be from Toulouse, Bordeaux, Racing 92, or La Rochelle, who provided the bulk of the squad.

France’s squad has already been blighted by injuries before the tournament has even started. Toulouse duo Anthony Jelonch and Emmanuel Meafou have both picked up knee injuries, with the former set to miss the entire Championship. As like-for-like replacements go for the 145kg lock Meafou though, Tuilagi is the best candidate France have.

Prior to Galthie announcing his squad, there was plenty of confusion as to whether the Samoan-born son of Henry Tuilagi was eligible to represent France as he did not have a French passport. Vice-President of the French Rugby Federation Jean-Marc Lhermet quickly quashed the belief that he was not eligible, and he has now edged closer to a potential debut this year, although that may still be a way off.

Tuilagi will now likely miss Perpignan’s trip to Lyon this Saturday in the Top 14.

Rassie Erasmus wades into heated debate over Jaden Hendrikse antics

Look son: putting up barriers that could hit your GDP by 4% negative is dumb. You supported that? You are dumb. Or rich enough so that your ideological brain farts are borne by the poor…in other words a w@nker.

Triggering a 2 year countdown at the end of which the UK economy would fall off a cliff is also extremely stupid. It is beyond idiotic to start a negotiation like that and give your opponents such a slam dunk. But this is exactly what Brexiteers (you presumably) screeched for. You were always going to lose, but once you did that you were going to lose very badly. Nothing to do with traitors and saboteurs and whatever phrases a f1lthy n@zi like you will concoct. Everything to do with incompetence. You’r chief negotiator said “We hold all the cards”. You couldn’t leave with no deal because that would be the end of your economy. The EU would have let you shoot yourselves on the head. Ireland wouldn’t have been able to help you there son. Would you recommend triggering article 50 if you had your time back Doc? Are you still that f**king dumb?

The 142 competences created by the GFA required regulatory harmony to fulfill their functions. Therefore a soft border is implicit in the GFA. All parties acknowledge this. You lost. Move on.

Again the official UK Brexit negotiators are well known and all Brexiteers. As a Doctor like yourself will know your ‘saboteur’ conspiracy theory unless you can substantiate it.

Are you sure you are a doctor? (Dipsh1t)

I refer you to the below to examine what cards the UK in effect held:

You’re a latent homosexual right?

The EU and Ireland look at their cards and lay down a royal flush. The UK looks at their cards and gulps…It’s Mr Bun the Baker, Pikachu, a Shadowmage, a fireball spell, and the Fool.
