That could be fun. Reserve certain spots for certain nations. Just leave it set in stone. Whatever happens, happens. Each pod gets their own specialist coach.

1,2,3 (Wales) - 4,5,6,7,8 (England) - 9,10,12,13 (Ireland) - 11,14,15 (Scotland).

Travel separately, train together. Cut down on the costs.

Yep. 2013 deciding test was basically Wales V Australia as Fatland still couldn’t buy a win over Oz with his adopted nation.

I kind of dropped out totally after 2017 when the AB’s got robbed of a win in the 3rd test.

You realise that SR had an average of just 14,910 last season? It used to be over 26,000 (2005). That not decline?

The relatively new URC is up, year on year. 9,500 (21/22), 10,800 (22/23) & 11,070 (23/24).

Farrell can adopt the points you make with good reason. There is a lot of time consumed in melting pot a big International variety of players into a system most are not familiar with. The end product will be far better having the majority of players already familiar with the system. This means those not familiar will learn more rapidly and more time can be used for match specific strategy and tactics.

The best team will be based on an embellished Irish team for these reasons.

For the record I think the principle of the Lions would be best served going forward by having even numbers from each country. The attraction then would be a musketeer type on for all and all for one coming together which would be more fun.
