Folau set for sideline spell

Wallabies and Waratahs star Israel Folau could miss up to a month after sustaining a hamstring injury against the Brumbies on Saturday night.

Waratahs head coach Daryl Gibson said post-match that Folau’s injury will likely see him miss between three and four matches.

Folau came off after just four minutes of the Waratahs’ local derby win against the Brumbies, with his hamstring heavily iced as he sat on the bench.

The 28-year-old is yet to undergo scans to assess the full extent of the injury.

Gibson’s suspected timeline puts Folau out of action until early May, when the Waratahs meet the Blues at Brookvale Oval in week twelve.

Folau currently leads the Waratahs in run metres, line breaks, tackle busts and offloads and has scored two tries for the two-win side.
