Force beat Kings in try-fest with futures under threat
Western Force overcame Southern Kings 46-41 in a Super Rugby match between two teams whose futures appear under threat.
Shortly after the game in Perth, Super Rugby’s governing body SANZAAR confirmed the competition is to be trimmed from 18 to 15 sides.
Both Force and Kings are thought to be in danger of being expunged, but that did not prevent them from putting on a show in a 12-try thriller at nib Stadium.
Malcolm Jaer scored a hat-trick for Kings as both teams recorded six tries, but the Force’s play with the boot made the difference as they made five conversions to the visitors’ four and also added two penalties.
