France captain Guirado jumps ship from Toulon
France captain Guilhem Guirado has signed a three-year contract with Montpellier from the start of next season as he prepares to leave Toulon.
Guirado joined Toulon from Perpignan in 2014 and helped the club retain the European Champions Cup, the French outfit winning the competition for a third consecutive season.
But further honours have not followed for Guirado and he has agreed a switch to 2018 Top 14 runners-up Montpellier in a bid to get his hands on silverware.
He said: “Being from Perpignan, this is a club that I know well and I feel close to.

“They demonstrate their ambition on a daily basis: Montpellier want to succeed, to be established at the highest level and, of course, to win titles. This is also my ambition. There are not many seasons left in front of me.”
Guirado has been France captain since 2015.
Montpellier face Toulon in a Champions Cup double-header in December.
