Les Françaises se qualifient pour les demi-finales à Hongkong

La France disputera la demi-finale du tournoi féminin de Hongkong face à l’Australie après avoir facilement disposé du Japon (34-0), dimanche à 7h37, heure de Paris.

Juste avant ce deuxième quart de finale, les Australiennes avaient facilement battu les États-Unis (35-5).

Après avoir encaissé deux défaites en trois matchs, le Japon était repêché pour affronter la France en quart de finale, leur quatrième depuis le début de la saison. A l’inverse, les Bleues ont fait un sans faute depuis le début du tournoi vendredi 28 mars. Tout portait à croire que ce match allait être déséquilibré…

On l’a pensé à partir du moment où Carla Neisen a ouvert le score dès la première minute de jeu (5-0), puis Hawa Tounkara a marqué dans la minute suivante après un offload de Cléo Hagel (10-0). Sous pression et forcées à défendre, les Japonaises ne récupéraient que de rares ballons. A la pause, Lou Noël-Rivier inscrivait le 30e essai de sa carrière après une belle attaque de Tounkara (17-0).

Le doublé de Lou Noël-Rivier intervenait dès le renvoi de la seconde période, là encore grâce à une passe après contact de Tounkara (22-0).

Carla Neisen, qui avait refilé son brassard de capitaine sur cette rencontre à Lili Dezou, marquait son deuxième essai (27-0). La soirée tournait finalement très mal pour le Japon avec en plus la perte d’une joueuse pour la fin de la rencontre. Servie par Romane Ménager, Océane Buisson scellait le score finale (34-0).

I can read out the headlines to you in all the National Irish Papers and none were complacent. To say they were is a fabrication pure and simple. People (including you) saying that Irish media are arrogant does not actually equate to Irish media being arrogant.

Since Ireland beat NZ in the 2022 series Irish supporters have had to deal with these accusations of arrogance. Out of nowhere. If you wish the International game to grow then please dont make supporting rugby this unpleasant for emerging nations.

Lets look at the Wales match in the 6N. One Irish podcast took the piss. 99% were completely respectful to Wales a few actually doing useful research in which Irish successes could be transferrable to Wales and which couldn’t.

Ofcourse the internet lit up. Ireland were arroagant. The Telegraph did a big column on it. Their substantiation? The same off the ball piss take and some hearsay about one Irish supporter at the Ireland/Scotland RWC match.

Things were dying down when Pundit Brian O’Driscoll claimed he read the Telegraph article and thought Irish supporters needed to have a good look at themselves. Everything was about that one piss take. And so what? Every Scots and irish supporter knows that the Welsh took no prisoners taking the piss during their scores of victories over us over the years. They like a bit of fun.


Next time you want to accuse Irish of arrogance then read all the articles and make that decision. Otherwise its disingenious.

I have been saying it since the start of the season.

Prendergast cannot tackle, his standard is of AIL rugby.

He has a fantastic park in front of him, always gets an easy ride.

Crowley on the otherhand, has to contend with a very poor pack, but plays well, tackles well in all pressure environment.

It was the 3 boys from Leinster (M. Williams, Horgan and Carney)who propelled Prendergast, telling us all that he was the bees knees.

Again and again they kept saying that he was their man.


Curly , Larry and Mo have got more calls wrong.than any other TV pundits.

Shocking, blatant pro Leinster and pro Prendergast.


Well……he’s been found out

And by the way Leo has a LOT OF QUESTIONS to answer too.

URC teams aren't proving Stephen Donald wrong

What are you on about no domestic comps. Ever heard of the Currie cup? Far bigger and more fan filled stadiums than any of the recent SRP games.


As far as making ends meet, how are Wales, England, Scotland, AU and NZ doing? The last two have Both have had financial losses YoY since covid with NZ rugby facing a $60m shortfall next year and stadiums struggling to sell out for international games. Don't be fooled, Rugby is struggling, it's not a country issue.


You're also confusing the performance of individual teams for the benefits of a countries participation. SAs rugby has benefited immensely from the URC.

Comparatively vs SR SA rugby is in a far better situation. More revenue from sponsors, more control and assurance over the revenue they generate, increased fan base and more opportunities for players and teams.

Mais bon, c’est un entraîneur irlandais qui a privilégié les centres de l’équipe d’Irlande …tant pis pour eux, ils sont éliminés !

Which is why no D4 supporters figured it out.


Coukdn’t tie Crowley’s boots on his best day and cost Ireland the Grand Slam.

The way to beat leinster was shown last week by the scarlets even though it was leinster 2nds they play the same way get at them early don't let them get into there stride or they will blitz you also do something a bit different which both teams did they didn't know what was happening panic set in it was great

Hmmm, to an extent. But, the ‘blitz’ is high-risk - high-reward, by its nature. They got the reward against Harlequins and Glasgow, and paid the price against Saints.

I think the Barrett selection is being used as an easy way out for some people.

If Robbie Henshaw and Gary Ringrose aren’t enough ‘protection’ for Prendergast, then he is probably not as far along in his development as some think.

Nevertheless, I think the kid is being made a scapegoat very unfairly. I thought he had quite a good game. He isn’t quick, and the Pollock try was one of those situations which will probably happen to him once or twice a season.

But, he’s clearly a very talented lad.

Only the uninformed will contribute to an argument as to which team is the best etc. The top comment was someone saying South Africa is a one trick pony as they can only win the World Cup (4 x). This just indicates the low level of thinking that takes place in this sort of discussion. Finally the opinions of New Zealanders (Donald and the Breakdown) will only go to highlight their lack of IQ and lack of respect for other rugby nations. It may just come back to bite them. The future will tell won't it.

Overall, I agree that you can, in the age of the internet, cherry-pick quotes to come to any conclusion you want.

However, the Irish media outlets do, let’s say ‘at least’ hire some pundits who like to ‘assert’ the dominance of the Irish national team and Leinster.

A Saints win was indeed not inevitable, in fact listening to many of the pre match comments, all Leinster had to do was turn up. It looked like a few too many of their players thought this the case as well!!

It was a coaching failure. NH identified numerous holes in the Leinster defense if the rush defense can be lessenned. Leinster should have plugged these holes before the match. They new they were not tested in the earlier rounds, they knew holes might exist that were not yet exposed. Barrett is a huge aid to Prendergast. He should have started.
