George Ford one of three heavy-hitting England recalls

George Ford is one of three big name recalls as Steve Borthwick named a 36-player England squad ahead of this weekend’s Guinness Six Nations match against Wales.

As well as the Sale Sharks 10, there’s a return from injury for Tom Curry and vice-captain Courtney Lawes.

Although the fixture is threatened by the potential of strike by the Wales players, Borthwick will be aiming for the second win of his reign against a Welsh Rugby Union in crisis.

Uncapped duo Fraser Dingwall and Cadan Murley are also named in the squad, who have met up today at the Honda England Rugby Performance Centre at Pennyhill Park, Bagshot.

England will travel to Cardiff to face Wales at the Principality Stadium on Saturday, 25 February.

London Irish flyer Ollie Hassell-Collins is unavailable for selection due to a knee issue.

Bryce Lawrence certainly played a part in it. However that game was the culmination of not being able to adapt to that Wallaby team under Robbie Deans since they beat the Boks in Brisbane in 2009. They won in S.A at altitude in 2010, then beat the Boks again in S.A in 2011. So when the World Cup rolled around, there was a sense the Wallabies had the measure of that Bok team.

It is just eerily similar to Heyneke Meyer’s record of 1/8 VS the All Blacks, the Boks tried to do what they always do and when it did not work, they did it again.

LOL no my agena was that I’d been pointing it out for ages!

That’s from the mouth of a guy who uses data analysis every day. Median is a useful tool, but much less wieldy than Mean for big datasets.

Which is exactly what we don’t have.

Obviously you can have those sorts of players but they are irrelevant to the discussion with there rarity. I wasn’t trying to narrow it down, just give the right picture of a player like you described above more succinctly (actually knew names and weights).

Those are not big flankers though. I was more pointing to their use of locks of a similar size.

Go look up their stats on all.rugby if you don’t believe me.
