Glasgow confirm five-strong leavers list, including George Turner
Glasgow have announced that Scotland’s first-choice hooker George Turner will be leaving the club at the end of the season. The 31-year-old front-rower has spent seven years at Scotstoun and accumulated all of his 45 international caps in that time.
It was reported recently that Turner was being lined up for a move to Japanese side Kobelco Kobe Steelers, who are under the charge of former Warriors head coach Dave Rennie.
A statement from Glasgow on Thursday revealed that Turner would be joined in exiting the club this summer by Oli Kebble, Sintu Manjezi, Lucio Sordoni, Enrique Pieretto and Thomas Gordon.
“We would like to thank every one of our leavers for their efforts throughout their time with Glasgow Warriors,” head coach Franco Smith told Warriors’ website.
“Each of them have bought in and contributed both on and off the field, helping us to become as close-knit a playing group as we can be.
“I would like to sincerely thank each player for their commitment to the club over the years and we wish them all the very best for whatever comes next.”
