The entry of the Bulls into the United Rugby Championship (URC) has seen a boom in ticket sales, despite the franchise only being able to use 50 per cent of Loftus Versfeld.

Blue Bulls Company CEO, Edgar Rathbone predicts that over 25,000 fans will descend to their home ground to see Jake White’s team take on the Cell C Sharks this Saturday in their URC quarter-final, despite pandemic restrictions.

The Bulls’ success saw them come fourth in the regular season despite a shaky start to the competition in 2021.

James O’Connor is brilliantly open about his life & career | RugbyPass Offload | Episode 36

James O’Connor joins the lads this week to walk us through his phenomenal and often misunderstood career. He talks to us about being the youngest player to line out in Super Rugby and for the Wallabies, struggling with alcohol, fame and partying, as well as playing in London, Manchester and Toulon before returning to Australia. One of the most talented players of his generation, he gives us an incredible insight into the highs and lows of his career so far and what his plans are next. Max and Ryan also cover off the Champions Challenge Cup Finals and the jubilant scenes in La Rochelle

“We always knew it was going to be a tough competition,” said Rathbone. “What I respect about our coaching staff and our team is that they came back, in a debrief, after that specific tour and said that they need to make some game plan changes and how we play, specifically a lot more ball in hand and a lot more tempo.

“That is what surprised us the most from the European teams – the tempo, especially that first game against Leinster. They then started implementing the changes and the team, at first, struggled to get the hang of it. Obviously when you change things it takes a bit of time. As soon as all those game plans clicked in, we saw the results in the competition.

“We need to thank the players and the coaches for all the work they have done to get us to the position we are in now – to play a quarterfinal in Pretoria. We are all really looking forward to Saturday.”

“The last few days we’ve seen a massive peak in ticket sales. We are getting close to 20 000, with our stadium being allowed to accommodate 50% of the capacity,” confirmed Rathbone.

“The appetite to watch live rugby at our stadiums we have seen growing… The quality of rugby has been exceptional.

“Our tickets start at R25 and there are still ample tickets available in that category, and they sell all the way to R250 for the best seats in the house. Interestingly, it is always the more expensive seats that sell out the quickest.

“It has always been our plan to look after our supporters with affordable tickets. We all know what the economy is like, and the fuel price increases. We understand that it becomes difficult for families to come to the stadiums, so we try our best to make our tickets affordable.”

South African franchise involvement in European competition took another major step forward today with news that five South African teams will be included in next season’s European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup competitions.

Just a year ago, I found myself in a financial abyss. A wrong investment decision had cost me $500,000—money that took me years to build through sweat, sacrifice, and relentless effort. It wasn’t just the loss that hurt; it was the hopelessness that followed. My business stalled, debts piled up, and the weight of my failure crushed me. I had trusted a too-good-to-be-true investment in a startup that promised high returns through speculative AI-driven trading. Blinded by optimism, I ignored red flags and poured in my entire savings. Within months, the company collapsed due to mismanagement and fraudulent activities. By the time I realized the truth, my funds were gone, and legal action seemed futile. In the midst of my despair, I stumbled upon Galaxy Ethical Tech, a rising name in ethical AI-driven financial solutions. Unlike the reckless investment schemes that had ruined me, they focused on transparency, sustainability, and responsible financial technology. Their mission was clear: leveraging AI to empower individuals ethically, not exploit them. With little to lose, I reached out to their team, expecting corporate indifference. Instead, I was met with genuine concern. A financial consultant from Galaxy Ethical Tech, Emma, walked me through their AI-driven Financial Recovery Program—a system designed to help individuals rebuild their finances through personalized investment strategies, risk analysis, and income diversification. I started small. Their AI-powered investment assistant analyzed my risk tolerance, market trends, and ethical investment opportunities that aligned with long-term sustainability and financial health. Instead of high-risk, speculative trades, it guided me toward steady, impact-driven investments—in sectors like renewable energy, ethical tech startups, and blockchain solutions with real-world utility. One of their groundbreaking features was the Galaxy Adaptive Portfolio, an AI-powered system that adjusted investments dynamically based on real-time market data, ensuring I never fell into the trap of emotional, impulsive decisions again. More importantly, their fraud detection system educated me on red flags, ensuring I never repeated my past mistakes. Beyond investments, their AI-driven freelancing and gig economy integration connected me with short-term, high-paying opportunities tailored to my expertise. Within months, I had a steady stream of income that helped me regain financial confidence. Within a year, I wasn’t just recovering—I was thriving. My portfolio had grown steadily, my debts were under control, and my financial mindset had transformed. More than just money, I had regained my self-worth, knowing I had made decisions rooted in ethics, sustainability, and intelligence. Galaxy Ethical Tech didn’t just help me recover from financial ruin—they empowered me to build a smarter, more resilient financial future. My $500,000 mistake no longer defined me. Instead, it became the foundation of a new journey—one built on wisdom, responsibility, and ethical technology. Now, as I stand on stable ground again, I share my story to remind others: financial ruin is not the end. With the right technology, the right guidance, and the right mindset, recovery is not just possible—it’s inevitable.
