« King ! A bientôt, mon frère ! » : la vidéo hilarante de Tuilagi

Dans une vidéo hilarante devenue virale sur les réseaux sociaux, Freddie Tuilagi, l’aîné de la fratrie Tuilagi et par ailleurs oncle de Posolo, revient sur un épisode cocasse qui s’est déroulé en début de semaine à Londres.

Mercredi 2 octobre, l’ancien Castrais (2005-2006), par ailleurs consul honoraire des Samoa à Londres, a en effet appris au roi Charles III quelques mouvements de danse traditionnelle des îles Samoa à l’occasion d’une réception tout ce qu’il y avait de très officiel.

« On a juste fait une danse de bienvenue pour le roi », dit-il. « Un petit peu de danse, un petit peu de chant pour l’accueillir. C’est ce à quoi il doit s’attendre quand il viendra aux Samoa (d’ici à la fin du mois d’octobre, ndlr).

« Il a adoré. Il a essayé et il m’a dit : apprend-moi, apprend-moi. »

Freddie Tuilagi mime alors les gestes enseignés au monarque dans ses habits traditionnels – en face en costard cravate le roi avec les siens propres.

« Il a adoré ! Le roi a adoré », s’exclame Tuilagi. « Roi ! A bientôt mon frère », conclue-t-il face caméra.

For the top 14 to become the “ NBA” of a internationally played game and the money that comes with it will require far more interest from the rest of the rugby world let alone the rest of France when it’s not Finals time the clubs are amazing but you can only make so much from local cash $$

That is BS. NZ will always have great talent. The talent pool however is a bit thin. Meaning even though there are very good players that can make the step up, they are not experienced enough in international rugby. In other words not enough test caps. The AB's have never dipped as low as the Boks in the rankings and when Rassie took over, the Boks was at their worst ever. Rassie is still installing the new attacking strategy. Rebuilding doesn't take a few games or a year. He took the traditional route to the 2019 WC, worked on better strategies and started building depth during the next 4 years, mostly still with forward play strategy wise, yet recruiting the right people for an attacking game play. During this cycle to the 2027 WC he worked on more expansive running rugby. It's still a work in progress, but they are getting there. I see the same for NZ in a way. Building depth and sorting out the right strategies will take time. As players play together more, the cohesion will come. Rebuilding doesn't come overnight. Rassie also have more power over who he can choose world wide for the Boks. Razor don't have that luxury.

Agree. If Razor wants to be serious about this plan, put Rivez Reihana in the AB squad. Rivez was so accomplished at 10 for the Crusaders, when his chance came. Otherwise this concept is hypothetical at best. Rivez should get a call up anyway.

Gregor Paul wants Razor to dig deeper in to the Chiefs back catalogue of collective chokers. Simon Parker. Come on. Ethan Blackadder is in great form , as shown by his magnificent contribution to the championship winning Crusaders. Cullen Grace should be talked about ahead of Parker. Cullen had a great year for the red and blacks. This dipping in to the runners up in Super Rugby is getting ridiculous. In this case , the further suggestion of it.

Remember in ‘23 when the Boks smashed the AB's at Twickenham just before the WC? Yeah we all remember. What does any of that got to do with these 2 Tests 2 years later? The AB's is marginally better than they were in ‘23. The Boks is far better than they were then. In fact, this is the strongest and the best the Boks have ever been. The Boks is 4-0 up on the AB's in the last 4 games. So what? That doesn't matter. Interesting yes, but no guarantee of a win. When these two teams collide, they always play on another level. Nothing matters. Not experience and definitely not past results. It's more than just about winning for both.

In NZ high school rugby which is top level quality, tackles have to be under the nipple line closer to the sternum, do u know this? I would expect it is the same in Oz too

No doubt even Georgia France Italy played well but all those teams could only maintain it for certain amount of time, expect a lot of what the Boks and ABs will do will kind of cancel out obvious dominance in most aspects of the game and I’m sure both coaching teams keeping some powder dry

Yea shorten the Chanpions cup by moving SA teans with Super & co and by taking games out you could block them better preferably end of season which if French top 14 are going to do with World club cup maybe they would consider for Champions ?? Idk I understand they have not wanted to previously but they are going to for the WCC, think SA rugby fans would like to get a small taste of the old Suoer foes at some point in the season and everybody playing in the Challenge and a equivalent competition in SH would be playing for rankings in WCC year so everyone still playing, something like that anyhow

All things being equal, none of these matches mean much when the ABs and Boks face up. Almost meaningless.

When Razor says 4 I believe that can mean sometimes the same player in different positions so for example Reuben Love could be ABs 2nd best fullback and 4th best 10

Our ABs xv beat Georgia LY in Georgia easy and did not play particularly good and that xv team is not a B team more like a C so that does give some perspective to Georgia

Yes the team selection for the ABs vs Italy was one of the most perplexing things I have ever seen from an AB coach. It showed the Razor was too scared… compare that to Rassie. When you have a scared coach, its a recipe for disaster. Instead of giving some of the young guns a chance, he chose to play players who had played England, Ireland and France on successive Saturdays, they were “shot” - it was a win, but the team looked beat and lacked any real drive.


Razor has shown already this year, that he sees this as a mistake. But even then there were some strange decisions for the 3rd French test. Bower in for Norris - Norris is the future, Bower is not. Dropping Proctor for ALB was also weird, given ALB hasnt played in 2 months and basically we know what he can and cant do. Proctor would have benefited from a 3rd straight game. Now I know some people will say ALB scored a try - 5 points. I would say, he also gave away two penalties, where the French scored 6 points.


Finally, the return of Sevu Reece - while I dont dispute at SR level he’s a star, and he really works to get involved. But unfortunately, he lacks the real speed to be an international winger - he was left behind by Jordan for his try, and I cant forget the French winger burning him for pace last November. OK I understand Clarke and Ioane were injured, and the seem not to like Narawa - but this says our winger stocks are pretty low if we have to rely on Sevu.

Fast and skilled backs yes, did we see that against ABs LY? No, so was more referring it’s not a shoo in the backs will be a major determining factor when it comes down to it, wasn’t in the u20s final either, Boks def have the mental wood on us atm but it’s not exactly the first time that has happened…I think what rankles NZ rugby public I know it rankles me is the whole NZ rugby is dying it’s rubbish no depth stupid coaches yadda yadda narrative that is to often chucked out there almost like people want NZ rugby to die or something aside from the fact it’s BS…Boks have just had a better team on the most in last 4 years or so especially upfront and as u say up top…we have had to learn with losing before time and time again so 2 wins great 1 each will be acceptable 2 losses no good
