Quins shed more light on worrying Marcus Smith injury
Michael Cheika was full of praise for hat-trick hero Adam Radwan after the lightning quick wing helped Leicester to a 40-7 victory over Harlequins.
Radwan boosted his hopes of a place on the England plane to Argentina this summer with another wing hopeful Ollie Hassell-Collins also grabbing two tries in a win which leaves Leicester in second place and eyeing a home Premiership play-off.
An incident-packed Welford Road contest saw Quins wing Cameron Anderson carried off on a stretcher after being knocked out. He also received a second yellow card – and a red one – for a second dangerous aerial hit on Freddie Steward.
But Cheika praised Radwan and insisted: “He has blended in super quickly and enjoying his footy here. He is a great fella off the field and he’s playing well on the field so things are going well. We just have to keep helping him move forward and give him more and more opportunities.”
He added: “It’s points in our pocket in front of a full house crowd who enjoyed the game and we sent them home happy. We were poor in first half. We discussed it at half-time and laid platform for some scores in second half. But I’d like to see us come out the blocks with a little bit more quality.
“It’s good news young Anderson is ok. It wasn’t intentional. He just got a bit mixed up.”
Quins boss Danny Wilson said: “Cam is ok. He’s back on his feet but was out for a while. It was a nasty one and he will be out for a period of time.”
Harlequins will also be hoping Marcus Smith shrugs off an injury that forced him off the field and Wilson said: “It’s his ankle. We don’t know how bad at the moment but he showed his toughness by digging in as he always does. Unfortunately it got worse and at the end he was struggling to be able to execute and will have a scan.
“It was a bit of a perfect storm, when you are struggling with injuries before the game and you go and get yellows and reds and further injuries it can lead to a scoreboard getting away from you and that is what happened today. But we can still mathematically get top four.”

Very glad that Cameron Anderson is alive. That was horrific. Contesting in the air is a real skill and Anderson obviously not have that skill. What was he doing out on the pitch contesting in the air if he hasn’t a clue when the ball is lost and he needs to pull out of the leap? Reckless and concerning.
worrying?
Not for the Lions, who were clearly never going to select Marcus.
Not for England, who given the sudden development of Donoghue now have at least three better fly-half options for the summer.
Perhaps not for Harlequins, who recently have looked just as good with Jamie Benson.
Even Marcus Smith himself might benefit from some time on the sidelines to try to get his head screwed on.
