I believe that the Crusaders now have the best attacking backline in the competition. It really doesn’t matter who actually scores as it is the unit that matters. Crusaders are well placed to be in the mix to be champions again but they still have some issues to resolve eg defence & goal kicking . Weaknesses in either can derail any side.

They will pose a threat for sure but they are not at the same level of that Ireland side and i dont think the ABs will be as bad as they were in 2022.

I am looking forward to ABs being far better this year after a first season under Razor. There is a lot of talent in Nz, probably the best pack since 2015, and we are playing at home.

Razor really needs to show an improved level of play, a coherent gameplan (too all over the place last year), make the most of the talent at his disposal and win (a lot!). The pressure is really on this year to be a dominant All Black side. It is time for the ABs to return to the top of the international game and be recognised as such.

France were very impressive in the six nations, after losing to England, and will bring a talented squad. But they could only beat NZ by a point in November (nz really should have won ) and many of those players wont be present.

Can the French come together to present a challenge to the ABs after a long season? Yes, but they could equally lose 3-0 with a blowout in the last test.

The comments I’ve read on Mick Cleary’s view of the England v Wales game seem much better balanced than his article. It is disappointing to read an experienced journalist going so far over the top after England basically out-muscled a poor Welsh side. I think it would be appropriate to be more measured in assessing England’s standing after the tournament; let’s see how things look after Argentina. Maybe Mick would benefit from not publishing his articles until he’s had the chance to review them after a night’s sleep.

No bias towards England I promise.. But a good point on not having to win perfectly to claim titles (reference to SA). You're right. If you rated SA on performance versus expectation for the 23 WC they'd probably get a B (poor against England, scrappy in most parts to NZ, lost to Ireland). But they won. Scores only reflect an opinion on where their ceiling is. Not what they achieved.

Well done RP. Its only right that past heroes are remembered.

Romania beat almost all NH opponents (inc France twice) and lost to NZ 14-6 with two disallowed tries. They lost some financial support when Ceaucescu was overturned. With the advent of professionalism the World Cup and its backerIRB/World Rugby did nothing while professionalism blew all coaches, players and officials from Romania to France in a few short years killing the great Romanian tradition. IRB/World Rugby were more concerned with the $ potential of the good and great of SA/AUS/ENG/NZ obsession with winning world cups. A great rugby nation was allowed to die.

Heroes like Marianei Lucescu deserved better.

Not a total surprise, she was invited in camp last year as a reward for her club performances and I think she has had a better season this year. Now, her debut as a 17 year old against Scotland and not receiving another cap, that was a surprise but has done well to bounce back after years of disappointment. Bonner is well overdue a selection and Millie David’s time will come. I am surprised that Connie Powell is omitted, I don’t think she has done a lot wrong

Interesting story. Sad to see Romanian rugby decline so much since then. They beat Portugal lately and Canada, and Tonga, so that’s not bad. But have had difficulty with the stadium rights.
