Munster centre Alex Nankivell has been cleared to play this weekend after winning an appeal against the red card he received during a Round 14 URC match against Connacht.

The New Zealand-born inside centre had been suspended following the incident but is now free to feature in Munster’s Investec Champions Cup quarter-final clash with Bordeaux.

Nankivell was sent off by referee Craig Evans in the 25th minute of Munster’s 30-24 victory at MacHale Park on March 29.

Will Felix Jones be the next Bok Head Coach? | RPTV

The Boks Office boy speculate as to whether Felix Jones’ return could set him up for a long term future with the Springboks. Watch the full show now on RugbyPass TV.

The sanction came under Law 9.20a, which prohibits charging into a ruck or maul without binding. The contact in question occurred at a ruck involving Connacht captain Cian Prendergast, who was later taken to Mayo University Hospital and discharged the following day.

An independent Disciplinary Panel initially handed Nankivell a two-match ban on April 2 but Munster subsequently appealed the decision.

The appeal panel — comprising Rod McKenzie (chair, Scotland), Achille Reali (Italy), and Rory Bannerman (Scotland) — convened on April 9. They upheld the appeal.

The outcome means Nankivell is immediately eligible for selection.

Munster had been without their first-choice inside centre for last weekend’s knockout win over La Rochelle. That match had already required the coaching staff to reshuffle their midfield.

Head contact incidents continue to attract scrutiny under World Rugby’s player welfare framework. In this case, the panel determined that the red card threshold had not been met after the Munster made an argument based on interpretation rather arguing the facts of case.

It’s a timely boost. The province will now travel to Stade Chaban Delmas with additional options in the midfield at thier disposal and it’s likely the Kiwi centre will start.

It game marks Munster’s first quarter-final appearance in Europe since their 2022 shootout defeat to Toulouse.

Strange how those appeal panels are complacent for head contacts with the Irish players compared to the French players….

Bizarre, just a bizarre outcome for a deliberate head contact that put the player in hospital overnight!

That’s a big boost for Munster. Munster want to force Bordeaux into a battle of guts, nerves and match management. Alex Nankivell’s presence makes that more likely. Bordeaux will want to keep them at arms lenght and I expect them to pick their strongest team to respect the danger Munster bring.

Errors giving space to Bordeaux are usually punished with tries. This will be a massive test for Jack Crowley after two consecutive man of the match performances.

Leinster cleanse palette with record URC scoreline against Zebre

My name is Solenn Bonnet, and I am a single mother navigating the challenges of raising my two-year-old child while trying to make ends meet. I came across a trading platform that promised astonishing daily profits of 18%. The allure of such a high return on investment was too tempting to resist, and I found myself drawn into cryptocurrency trading. Excited by the prospect of financial freedom, I invested a significant amount of my savings, totaling over 5.7 BTC. However, what started as a hopeful venture quickly turned into a nightmare. The platform was a scam, and I lost everything I had invested. The emotional toll of this loss was immense; I felt devastated and helpless, struggling to provide for my child and keep up with my bills. In my desperate attempt to recover my funds, I sought help from various recovery experts. Unfortunately, I encountered numerous fraudulent individuals who claimed they could help me retrieve my lost money. Each time I reached out, I was met with disappointment and further scams, which only deepened my despair. Last year was one of the most challenging periods of my life, filled with anxiety and uncertainty about my financial future. Feeling overwhelmed and at a loss, I confided in a close friend from church about my situation. She listened compassionately and shared her own experiences with financial difficulties. Understanding my plight, she introduced me to Tech Cyber Force Recovery, a group of skilled hackers known for their expertise in recovering lost funds. Skeptical yet hopeful, I decided to reach out to them as a last resort. Their services came at a higher cost, but my friend generously offered to help me with a partial payment. I was amazed by how quickly they responded and began the recovery process. Their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire ordeal. To my relief, they successfully recovered more than I had lost to those heartless scammers. This was truly transformative, and I felt a sense of relief and gratitude that I hadn’t felt in a long time. I strongly encourage anyone who has faced similar challenges or fallen victim to scams to reach out to Tech Cyber Force Recovery. If you’ve invested in a fraudulent platform like I did, they are highly capable of helping you reclaim your hard-earned money. Don’t lose hope; there is a way to recover what you’ve lost.
