A TMO-inspired rendition of Frank Sinatra’s My Way sung by Nigel Owens might well be the song the rugby world did not know it needed.

The Test refereeing centurion was making his final appearance on Scott Mills’ and Chris Stark’s final Radio 5 Live show with his ‘Real Life TMO’ segment, where he delivers his verdict on listener’s real life disputes. The Welshman closed with his own take on the Sinatra classic, and with lyrics like these it is only a matter of time before this becomes a classic:

“And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain,
Each week, on TMO, you state your case, I put the ref shirt on,
I ruled on your disputes, lay down the law but in a kind way,
And I made sure, that in the end, you did it my way,
Yes there were times, I’m sure you could tell,
When your disputes, were pointless hell,
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I heard it all and figured it out,
Let the record show, I’m the TMO and you did it my way
Yes you did it Nigey’s way.”

The video has made its way onto social media, to which Owens sent this message to the pair on Twitter:

“It truly was an honour and privilege to be a small part of your wonderful show
Chris Stark and Scott Mills.”

“Thank you so much for having me and the very best for the future my friends. #RealLifeTMO”
