Parra and Lamerat among Clermont walking wounded

Clermont Auvergne scrum-half Morgan Parra

Morgan Parra and Remi Lamerat are among a quartet of Clermont Auvergne players who are injury concerns following their European Champions Cup semi-final win over Leinster on Sunday.

Scrum-half Parra suffered a thigh problem during the Top 14 side’s 27-22 success at Matmut Stadium de Gerland.

Parra, capped 66 times by France, will miss the trip to Lyon this weekend and Clermont are waiting to discover how long he will be out for, with a Champions Cup showdown with defending champions Saracens to come two weeks on Saturday.

Les Bleus centre Lamerat will also play no part in the Top 14 encounter at Lyon after taking a blow to the knee and it remains to be seen how long he will be sidelined.

Fellow centre Aurelien Rougerie is another player who will not feature this weekend due to a foot injury sustained in a triumph over the Pro12 side, which came at a cost.

The same goes for Georgian prop Davit Zirakashvili, who is nursing an ankle complaint, but his compatriot Viktor Kolelishvili is available after coming through the concussion protocol.

Macca Springer and Sevu Reece getting 5 and 3 tries apiece was absolutely amazing . I was at this game. Though my personal highlight was Will Jordans try for the Crusaders. He must be played at fullback by the AB’s. Braydon Ennor’s outstanding comeback match showed he must be in consideration for the All Black’s no 13 jersey.

It's really hurting the Allblacks performance with the constant departing of players to offshore. Ennor has been incredibly unlucky and the skies the limit for him if he can stay intact through this next world cup cycle.


It will be unsurprising if he joins the list of talent headed offshore in their prime for huge money.


NZ rugby needs to allow the All blacks coaching staff to select whoever they like, that will only strengthen the Allblacks and perhaps disincentive the clubs from signing up NZ rugby players, not that it will matter.


As the Boks are showing picking players with top level offshore experience is a no brainer. As the Allblacks continue to miss the number one spot and miss winning the world cup the sponsors only become harder to find and less interested in paying.


Only so many kiwi players will be interested and good enough to get selected for offshore clubs and it will build Allblacks quality depth as new talent fills the gaps.

Timmins is nowhere near Int standard and hasn’t started a game of men’s.

Pollock had an excellent debut against a crest fallen shambles of a Wales team. I was waiting for this😂

Ted Hill remains a much better player than Pollock and has earned his place in the England team after year’s of good/excellent prem form albeit interrupted by injury v a talented young player with 3 starts in the prem this season.
