Saracens flanker Jackson Wray retiring at end of season

Saracens’ long-serving flanker Jackson Wray will retire from rugby at the end of the season.

Wray, 32, is only the fifth player to make over 300 appearances for a club he first joined as a teenager. He has won four Gallagher Premiership and three Heineken Champions Cup titles.

“After 15 years at this fantastic club, it is the right time for me to retire from rugby and pursue interests that I have been building towards during my career,” Wray said.

The team is then run by committee of 3 or is it 4 vice captains .

England keep losing in the last quarter .

I thought Argentina were unlucky with Luke Pearce's decision for the penalty try. Clearly the ball did travel toward the Argentina try line after it was flapped at by the Argentine player although his hand motion was going the other way. Thus the result was that he slowed it down rather than deliberately knocked it on whatever his actual intention was. Playing with 14 for 20 minutes in the first half was too big a handicap.

If he didn't he'd be out on the street, and to his credit he made himself a better player than he'd ever been at home.

He has some credibility gut he is an emerging coach with experience in only one domestic league NC. Felix Jones has experience in Ireland, South Africa and England and has been part of world cup winning ventures, so Joe is playing catch-up in terms of knowledge.

Yes I remember him as a player too. He was a hard, decent flanker.


But the drop-off from Felix Jones is still immense. Coaching Top 14 D is very different to coaching D in international rugby - the priorities are different, the challenges are like chalk and cheese. It's a huge ask for him.

Spot on Tom. They gave every indication of buying in and it worked. It would have gotten better gain this autumn had he felt motivated to stay. But the key defenders are now looking confused in situations when it really matters. As you say it looks ragged and un-cohesive.
