Currie made his Edinburgh Rugby debut in February 2021, scoring his first professional try shortly after in a Rainbow Cup win over Zebre Parma.

He signed his first professional contract in January 2022 and captained the side against Ospreys at just 20 years old. In the 2023/24 season, he earned the club’s Breakout Player of the Season award, scoring five tries while showcasing versatility across the backline.

“I’m really excited about staying on for the next two years. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here since leaving school and joining the club in 2019. I feel like I’ve made Edinburgh my home.

“I think we’ve got a quality squad here and we’ve got a great blend of experience and younger guys coming through. I’ve grown up with a lot of the players here and it’s a privilege to represent the club alongside them.”

On the international stage, Currie debuted for Scotland against Canada and scored his first international try against Chile last summer.

“Edinburgh is a great place for me to be in terms of honing my skills and trying to improve as a player. We have some class centres here and there’s some brilliant centres in Scotland right now.

“It’s a very competitive place but I think, if I can keep working on my own game in Edinburgh, I can hopefully push for more international caps in the future.”

Edinburgh Rugby Head Coach, Sean Everitt, said: “We’re thrilled to have Matt [Currie] sign a new deal. He’s a talented and hard-working player who has consistently impressed when playing a number of different positions across the backline.

Mick Cleary: 'England are back among the heavyweights.'

Being an artist in New York, I rely heavily on online platforms to showcase and sell my work. One day, I was approached by a gallery claiming to offer international exposure for my art. They promised to feature my pieces in exhibitions and connect me with global buyers. Excited by the opportunity, I agreed to their terms, which included an upfront payment of $3000 to cover administrative fees. The gallery’s contact person stopped responding to my emails, and when I tried to visit their address, it turned out to be fake. I realized I had fallen victim to a scam. Feeling betrayed and frustrated, I didn’t know where to turn. That’s when I discovered Muyern Trust Hacker on ( Te le gram at muyerntrusthackertech )  I reached out to them, providing all the details I had: the gallery’s information, transaction records, and emails from the scammer. They worked tirelessly with international authorities to track the funds and initiate the recovery process. Within a few weeks, they successfully returned the $3000 to me. The relief I felt was overwhelming. Not only did I get my money back, but I also learned valuable lessons about verifying opportunities and being cautious with upfront payments. They are true professionals who go above and beyond to help their clients. Thanks to them, I can now focus on creating and sharing my art without the burden of losing hard-earned money to scammers.
