Richie will come back halfway thru next year and he will have to suit up for NPC or club rugby before he can put on the black jersey as per the rules right? And u would expect him to get in the squad for rugby championship after, as for who gets 10 for 27 WC Dmac s form this year and next and 27 Super will determine I believe if it’s him or Richie, I love me some Beaudie but unless Jordie kicking or possibly Love plays right wing ( not a terrible idea might struggle on D ) Beaudie kicking off tee can be a tad shonky quite often

Of course that would be why all but one World Cup have been won by SH teams. Yes, I know that the last was won by a team with clubs in euro- African comps but not after it had won the previous edition while still in free running SR. Notably Rassie kept relying on players brought up in Super Rugby.

I can't think of a single expert saying that NH comps are better because there are more stoppages!

Why do a lot of people have a crack at Rivez Reihana ? He has shown he has “a big match temperament”. He is attacking the line and kicking goal.You keep waiting for the second coming of Beauden. He is no Andrew Mehrtens re a match winning tactical genius.

Guys like Ethan Blackadder and Tom Christie are tough. You talk about “wilting under pressure”. Both of these guys and Cullen Grace on the bench, have greater big match aptitude than your mouthy lot. Just like Matt Todd, Crusader great and now one of the coaches. These guys know how to get the job done.

Jeez JD we are getting twitchy! I don’t think NZ are going to have a choice if they want to keep up. In spite of the fact that money is a dirty word it’s what makes the difference between keeping professionals and losing them. The SA model is not just working because it’s being applied in SA it’s working because it acknowledges global trends economically. The roving professional is not just a rugby phenomenon it applies in just about every sphere of human economic endeavour, and if a company/country can’t recognise that they will be overtaken by others that can. The work at home hybrid is a great example. There are local companies that have insisted on back to work, and they have lost key employees because of that old fashioned rigidity. I have employed a few of them and they are working out really well. Rugby is no difference.
