Saracens maintained their 100 per cent record this season by grinding out a 13-3 Pool 3 victory at Scotstoun.

Michael Rhodes scored the only try as the Premiership champions came out on top in an almighty battle, England duo Mako Vunipola and Billy Vunipola withdrawn with ankle and arm injuries respectively.

“Mako’s is a calf injury, Billy’s an arm – but it’s too early to say how serious they are,” said McCall.

However Owen Farrell, Nick Isiekwe, Maro Itoje and Jamie George all suffered other various levels of injury.

“Owen Farrell got a bang on his knee but he seemed to be OK after the game. Nick Isiekwe hurt his calf or his ankle too and that’s why he wasn’t able to continue on the field.

“Maro and Jamie have both got broken noses. It was a tough old game,” said McCall. “Is that an unusual injury toll? Of course it is. But it is the way it is…It’s a bit of a worry.”
