The WRU are predicting that the PRO14 single-game attendance record is set to be smashed in 2019.
Sales of the big Welsh derby – Judgement Day VII – are fast approaching the 30,000 mark, within a month of the 2019 ‘super day-out’ going on public sale.

The annual double-header at Principality Stadium, which will see the Scarlets face the Dragons and Cardiff Blues host the Ospreys on Saturday 27th April, is tracking at 100% up on sales rates for its predecessor, JDVI, at this time last year.
In 2018 a crowd of 62,338 flooded the Cardiff capital from the four regions of Wales for the season crescendo event, which celebrates Welsh interests in the Guinness PRO14 – the largest attendance for any match in the league competition, including the final later held at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Only the 2016 Judgement Day, which reached 68,242 and holds the all-time record for a domestic attendance in Wales, surpassed last season’s effort, but JDVII, the 2019 incarnation, looks set to break all records.
Tickets are currently selling at rates of well over 150 a day and this weekend’s regional derbies – where Cardiff Blues host the Dragons at Cardiff Arms Park (Friday) and the Scarlets visit the Liberty Stadium on Saturday – are set to whet the appetite further for Guinness PRO14 rugby.
The Dragons face last year’s PRO14 finalists the Scarlets in the first match of the day, kicking-off at 3pm, before Cardiff Blues host the Ospreys at 5.15pm in front of the expected record crowd.
To mark the occasion organisers have released a new promo for JDVII which builds on a superhero theme, encouraging fans to book tickets now to see their heroes collide under one roof at Principality Stadium next April at regional rugby’s ‘Super Day Out!’

“Tickets are flying for Judgement Day again this year, allowing us to predict another record Guinness PRO14 crowd,” said a WRU spokesperson.
“We have evolved our approach to the Judgement Day concept over the years, it has become a must-see attraction in Welsh rugby’s annual calendar and a celebration of the regional game.
“Judgement Day attendances have now broken the 60,000 mark for the last three years in a row, this is consistently the top fixture in the Guinness PRO14 calendar and we will continue to do everything in our power to ensure it comes back even bigger and better at the culmination of a huge season for Welsh rugby ahead of RWC 2019.”
General prices are £25 middle tier and £15 for both lower and upper tier adult access – with the £10, U16 concession ticket available for all lower and upper seating, to ensure the family event is accessible for all.
