Video - Digby Ioane's model nephew scores hattrick against Scarlets
A player with a famous surname and a distinctive look scored a hattrick of tries against Scarlets on the weekend.
Treviso’s Monty Ioane is the nephew of Wallaby Digby, and it’s not just his distinctive look that likens him to his uncle – he clearly knows his way to the try line too.
Ioane scored a hat-trick as Benetton Treviso beat defending champions Scarlets 22-12 to equal a club-record fourth straight win in the competition.
He beat seven defenders along the way, made three clean breaks and made a total of 116 metres during his 77 minutes on the pitch.
A product of the Queensland Reds academy programme, he has played for Stade Francais, Tasman and Bay of Plenty.
The 5’11, 95kg wing has also worked as a fashion model.
He signed for the Pro14 side in November of 2017, and the 23-year-old will be eager to keep his scoring form for the club.
No surprise to see @BenettonRugby's Monty Ioane awarded the man of the match award for his hat-trick, presented by Manuel Nardo on behalf of Guinness.#GUINNESSPRO14 pic.twitter.com/UzIF5gH4Zg
