Richie McCaw calling the 2015 RWC Final

World Rugby had a particularly excellent Yuletide treat up their sleeve this Christmas for rugby fans.

Two years on from the famous victory, All Black captain Richie McCaw came into the studios to give his version of a rugby ‘director’s commenatry’ to the entire 2015 Rugby World Cup Final.

It’s a cracking watch, with some genuinely fascinating insight.

Justin is right, a halfback that's able to kick off left or right is a huge asset and needs capping immediately to ensure he doesn't end up in the Irish team as the emerald isles current Kiwi halfback is nearing the end of his high test career.

My point was that Wayne Smith also picked then dropped him for the AB’s. Hard to argue with that if your point was that John Hart was biased.

I don’t think there would be much debate around Roigard and Ratima being 1 and 2. I like Preston as 3rd option. He looks to have much better kicking game than Hotham who will probably get selected as they have been grooming him.

He was playing mainly as blindside flanker before 1999. Hart picked Flash Harry’s like Andrew Blowers and Charles Reichelman ahead of him. There were others too.

Crusaders provide update on Will Jordan’s concerning knee injury

Positive news that Will Jordan will play before the end of Super Rugby. He has been brilliant this year for the Crusaders and has brought a huge leadership role to the team. He left a gaping hole when he went off injured on Saturday night against the Chiefs. I am confident the team will bounce back. Some one like Johnny McNicoll, ( who played well last year),can do the job in the mean time.

Former All Blacks weigh in on the No.9 position for AB's

Justin Marshall is one of the most astute rugby analysts. I agree with what he says about Crusaders halfback Kyle Preston. His kicking off both feet make him quite the weapon. His debut off the bench a few minutes in to round one against the Hurricanes, when he scored 3 tries, was memorable. I thought he should have come on earlier on Saturday night. I hope he starts against the Warratahs.He could be a bolter in the All Blacks.

Let’s be fair. John Hart picked him then dropped him. Wayne Smith also picked him then dropped him. Great as he was at Super/NPC level he was never that guy at test level. He initially missed out to Ian Jones, Robin Brooke and Royce Willis then later Troy Flavell, Norm Maxwell and Chris Jack. Was he better than any of those guys? Even at six Michael Jones, Andrew Bowers then Reuben Thorne funnily enough.
