Ever wondered what the largest crowds to attend a rugby match are?
Well wonder no more.
Some of the below fixtures are perhaps more predictable than others. Maybe the most surprising names to feature in the top 10 list is Romania. The Oaks feature twice in the echelons of rugby’s highest attended fixtures.

In fact Rugby Union’s top three most attended matches beat the biggest ever recorded crowds to attend the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl XIV took place at the Rose Bowl California in 1980, recording a crowd of 103,985.
Whilst in football (or soccer depending on where you hail from), the Maracana Stadium in Brazil far surpasses rugby’s comparatively modest figures.
The stadium recorded an attendance of 199,854 for the Brazil vs. Uruguay World Cup Final on the 16th June, 1950.
According to Topend Sports, “this is the biggest attendance at a sporting event held in an enclosed stadium. The crowd number is an unofficial number – the official crowd (people who paid tickets) that day was 173,850.
