Naa common 🙃 Why after one tournament is a nation crowned the world champions? Why after one sprint race is the winner crowned the fastest man in the world at the Olympic? I suppose it’s the ability to win under extreme pressure which decides who is the best - not the ability to win a lot when there is really nothing riding on that particular game. It’s the difference between just having athletic ability and having athletic ability plus the mental capacity to handle extreme pressure.

Yep so they have. But when they score tries, they score them at will. At the end of the day, if NH rugby competitions are so fantastic and the rugby is so much better than SR, when will this translate to consistent RWC wins or consistent and convincing wins against the SH teams.

Why tf is one single tourney (LA), “season defining”, & also provides the winner with the title “SVNS SERIES CHAMPION”?


The Blitzboks came 4th on 70 points over the series six circuit tournaments. Los Pumas were first on 104 points. What is the point of winning the actual series when it is relegated to nothingness in the final tourney? Ridiculous!!!

Not just because I share the same last name as him. But Chris Paterson of Scotland should have toured here in 2005. Woodward blew it after World Cup success with England. The results in 2005 in NZ speak for themselves. Paterson would have fitted in to the no 1 side , let alone the midweekers. He retired Scotland’s highest point scorer of all time. Hard luck stories are in every sport. In the 1980’s here in Canterbury in our Ranfurly Shield team we had a great no8 Dale Atkins and his fellow loose forward and captain Don Hayes were unlucky to never be All Blacks.

All Blacks Sevens crushed by Blitzboks, bounce back with shock upset

The men’s sevens is always going to be judged by the high standards of past teams…. So sad to see them pretty much as also rans this year. Not a fan of Colliers play, he just seems too slow on the field, when he was questioned about their fall from the top of past teams, it sounded like excuses for why they just aren’t that good enough anymore…… maybe next year ?
