Georgian fullback Soso Matiashvili scored this stunner in the Lelo’s 54-22 win over Canada in Tblisi over the weekend, after seemingly putting a bit too much weight on his kick ahead.

However, the ball held up millimetres from the dead ball line, allowing Matiashvili to touch down with a spectacular dive. It was one of six tries to the impressive home side, who continue to improve and press their case for inclusion in regular tests against tier one nations.

What is clear is that the Irish style has now been found out. France did so in the Six Nations and so should have England while Wales gave them an almighty fright. Irish teams bar Leinster are struggling in the URC. Irish rugby has been found out. If you can match them physically, deny them the ball, then 9 times out of ten, you will beat them. The decline has started and unless they have a reset, they will end up with what we have in Wales.

The second Freeman try was startling. Not just through its execution, but the alarming ease at which Saints easily shifted play and created what looked like a 5-3 overlap. Leinster had about 9 players loaded and lined up on the open side. Saints simply switched and broke.


During England’s recent run of close losses - which also employed a disfunctioning blitz D, one of the criticisms leveled at Borthwick was England were over trained and too reliant on playing within prescribed ‘systems’. Leinster may also be slipping into that trap.

Just say you haven’t watched Suaalii, Ikitau, or that new Reds centre Pakeho play. Or Tate, or Potter. Get a grip. I hope you are pleasantly surprised. From my eyes, that’s how I see the teams and their players. If you could back up your claims that somehow the English centres are any better than the Australian ones, or any of your other 'claims’, I’ll be happy to prove you wrong, or at least attempt to.😁

Bell absolutely demolished England last year, so yes, he is good at international level.

They did, they implemented it very well against England last year if I recall. It’s hard to play at a fast tempo, that’s why less skilled teams (like England) choose to slow down the game to let their slow brains process the situation. Australia play heads-up rugby, and to do that effectively, they play fast so they can outwit the opposition. Against England, this worked very well, with quick distribution and identification of weaknesses.

Australia have shown some real class in SRP, and some really good players are coming to light. I think it’ll be a lot closer than most people think, but that’s just my opinion.

For the last couple of years the biggest challenge Tupou seems to have had is walking past a Kebab shop without going in, and Bell has done nothing at international level to justify his reputation gained at SRP level.

Rugby is not won on paper, hence of course the WBs have a chance. But, anyone who believes the 8th ranked WBs have a better 30 man squad than the combination of the best of 3rd, 6th and 7th ranked teams needs to have their gas boiler checked to ensure there isn’t a leak.

Apparently, Oz have the best backrow in the world, bar none; better outside backs than everyone except France and NZ; better locks than England; better scrum halves than Argentina, England, Scotland and Fiji; and better centres than France, England, Scotland, NZ, Fiji and Italy.
