'We are not the mafia here. No one is going to attack his family'
Julian Savea has confirmed his family has received threats concerning their young daughter, with his wife saying she fears for her and her daughter’s life “with the amount of threats and hateful messages I have received from angry fans”.
A Toulon fan responded to the pair: “We are not the mafia here. No one is going to attack his family. We have never had a history of that order here.”
“We are not thugs or savages. Talk to your wife a little”.
Savea retorted to the man asking him not to tell him what to do.
“Please don’t tell me what to do kind sir,” Savea politely replied.
“My wife wasn’t speaking about all the fans or you or anyone on Twitter. She was talking about the ones who have messaged her with threats towards our daughter on Facebook and Instagram.”

Savea continues to be left out of Toulon’s matchday squad, watching Toulon’s latest win over last-placed Perpignan from the stands.
Toulon head coach Patrice Collazo previously issued an ultimatum of sorts, saying Savea had nine games left to prove he was worth his million euro contract.
“Do I want Savea to be in Toulon next season?
“Julian is under contract. The important thing is for me the only truth of the field.
“I wish the best players for my club. He has nine games left to show his value,” Collazo said.
Without getting on the field, it is difficult to see how Savea will do that for the club.
