'You have no respect for us' - Jaco Peyper lashes Bok duo over back chat

Boks lashed

Referee Jaco Peyper felt he had to reprimand two Springboks during last night’s United Rugby Championship (URC) derby between the Bulls and the Sharks in Durban.

The C Cell Sharks fought their way to a 30-16 victory over the Bulls as the URC belatedly made its debut on South African soil on Friday.

Tension boiled over at times, with the current and former Springbok No.2s getting stuck into each other.

Peyper eventually lost patience with both Bulls’ hooker Bismarck du Plessis and current Springboks and C Cell Sharks hooker Bongi Mbonambi at the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium.

During a pause in play he called the players over for a brief dressing down.

“I need both hookers,” said Peyper. “Cheers lads, I know you’re captain now [he said to Du Plessis]. The both of you, you speak to the officials at the moment, like you have no respect for us.

“It’s both of you. I know you’re big characters and good players, both Springboks, so please, come back to your values.”

“It was always going to be a ding-dong battle, and it’s always going to be a little spicy as well – you’re talking about two teams who have played each other many times in big games,” Bulls head coach Jake White said after the game. “So, it was going to be no different this week.”

Both Springboks, both Captains. And with the national coach leading the way in driving rugby to the degenerate state that is the round ball game, this is just a case of Captains following the General. Rassie Erasmus should be stepped down for his breaking of the code, and then doubling down on his outburst. Between himself and Eddie Jones, they have, and are, ushering in the change in how all players are behaving, whether it is sniping targeting of opposition players in the media or just plain calling the Ref a cheat. I think it is disgusting, and I can't wait for the pair of them to move on from the game. So long as whoever comes after them realise this shit needs to stop.

"both Captains"... You might notice Lukhanyo Am in the photo where Peyper is talking to Bismarck and Bongi. Lukhanyo isn't lost; he's there because he is the captain of his team. Bongi is not. Try to get your facts straight - but then, I suspect you don't care too much about facts and reason in your haste to call for Rassie to step down.

I notice there is no similar call for Eddie to step down - or for any of the other coaches who have criticized referees long before Rassie made a video. Can you point to a post you made where you called for punishment of those coaches or players? No? Guess you just want Rassie out of the game, then.

Leinster cleanse palette with record URC scoreline against Zebre

My name is Solenn Bonnet, and I am a single mother navigating the challenges of raising my two-year-old child while trying to make ends meet. I came across a trading platform that promised astonishing daily profits of 18%. The allure of such a high return on investment was too tempting to resist, and I found myself drawn into cryptocurrency trading. Excited by the prospect of financial freedom, I invested a significant amount of my savings, totaling over 5.7 BTC. However, what started as a hopeful venture quickly turned into a nightmare. The platform was a scam, and I lost everything I had invested. The emotional toll of this loss was immense; I felt devastated and helpless, struggling to provide for my child and keep up with my bills. In my desperate attempt to recover my funds, I sought help from various recovery experts. Unfortunately, I encountered numerous fraudulent individuals who claimed they could help me retrieve my lost money. Each time I reached out, I was met with disappointment and further scams, which only deepened my despair. Last year was one of the most challenging periods of my life, filled with anxiety and uncertainty about my financial future. Feeling overwhelmed and at a loss, I confided in a close friend from church about my situation. She listened compassionately and shared her own experiences with financial difficulties. Understanding my plight, she introduced me to Tech Cyber Force Recovery, a group of skilled hackers known for their expertise in recovering lost funds. Skeptical yet hopeful, I decided to reach out to them as a last resort. Their services came at a higher cost, but my friend generously offered to help me with a partial payment. I was amazed by how quickly they responded and began the recovery process. Their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire ordeal. To my relief, they successfully recovered more than I had lost to those heartless scammers. This was truly transformative, and I felt a sense of relief and gratitude that I hadn’t felt in a long time. I strongly encourage anyone who has faced similar challenges or fallen victim to scams to reach out to Tech Cyber Force Recovery. If you’ve invested in a fraudulent platform like I did, they are highly capable of helping you reclaim your hard-earned money. Don’t lose hope; there is a way to recover what you’ve lost.
