Bio

Aaron Shingler is a Welsh flanker who has represented Scarlets since 2008. As well as making 200 appearances for Scarlets, he's been capped by Wales more than 20 times.

Born 7 August 1987, Aaron Shingler was a promising cricketer before he turned his attention to rugby. During his cricket career, he represented Glamorgan at county level and even played for England at U19 level.

However, after he was released by Glamorgan in 2007, Aaron Shingler signed for Llanelli RFC. After a couple of seasons, he was asked to represent the Scarlets regional side for the first time.

Since 2008, Aaron Shingler has made more than 200 appearances for Scarlets. During this period, he won the PRO12 (now the United Rugby Championship) title in 2017. Over this time, he's become known as an athletic runner with deft handling skills. As a result, he's now rightly regarded as one of the leading line-out operators in Welsh rugby.

Thanks to his impressive performances for Scarlets, Aaron Shingler was selected to play for Wales for the first time in 2012. Since then, he's been capped more than 20 times and he was a standout player during Wales' 2018 Six Nations Championship campaign. On top of this, he was also named in the Wales squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, where the team finished fourth.

Sadly, in recent years, Aaron Shingler's appearances for both Scarlets and Wales have been limited by long-term injuries. Thankfully, he's now fully recovered and ready to show off his silky skills once again.
