Ben Cohen Bio
Throughout his playing days, Ben Cohen firmly established a reputation as a try-scoring supremo for both club and country. A supremely talented winger, he was a legend for Northampton Saints and England. Plus, his place in history was firmly cemented by his performances for England during their 2003 Rugby World Cup win.
Born 14 September 1978, Ben Cohen began playing rugby at the age of 12. He quickly showed his skills and, by the age of 17, he’d been signed by the Northampton Saints. After making his debut for the club in the 1996-97 season, he became a first team regular and he went on to make almost 150 appearances for the side. During this time with the club, he helped them capture the Heineken Champions Cup in the 1999-00 season.
After more than a decade with the Northampton Saints, Ben Cohen left the side in 2007 and joined Brive for a couple of years. Following this, he ultimately joined Sale Sharks for two seasons before retiring in 2011.
Thanks to his stellar domestic career, Ben Cohen was first selected to play for England in 2000. During his international career, he made 57 appearances for his country, scoring 155 points. Due to his try-scoring prowess, he currently sits third on the list of all time England try scorers.
Over the years, Ben Cohen put in several outstanding performances for England. However, he’s best known for his appearances in the 2003 Rugby World Cup, where he started in all but one of England’s matches as the team lifted the trophy.
Since retiring, Ben Cohen has focused on his anti-bullying charity, The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation, Inc. He’s also made sporadic appearances on British television programmes like Strictly Come Dancing and The Jump.
