Born 8 September 1975, Chris Latham began his Super Rugby career with the New South Wales Waratahs in 1997. In 2008, Chris Latham announced he was leaving the Queensland Reds and joining Worcester Warriors in the English Premiership. When he signed for the club, he became the competition’s second-highest earner. After a few successful seasons with Worcester Warriors, Chris Latham left England and signed for Kyuden Voltex in Japan. He took on a player-coach role with the club and helped them reach the Japanese top flight before he retired in 2012.
Although he enjoyed a highly distinguished domestic career, Chris Latham is best known for his international career. He was capped by the Wallabies 78 times between 1998 and 2007 and he made appearances in three editions of the Rugby World Cup, including the victorious 1999 campaign. During his international career, he was a prolific try scorer and he was the first backline player to be awarded the John Eales Medal.
When his playing career came to a close in 2012, Chris Latham embarked on a coaching career. Since, he’s worked as an assistant coach for the NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes and Samoa. He’s also been the head coach of the Utah Warriors.
