Jason Little Bio
Jason Little is an icon of Australian rugby. A former centre who sometimes played on the wing, he is one of a select handful of players who have captured the Rugby World Cup on multiple occasions. Jason Little was inducted into the RugbyPass Hall of Fame in 2021.
Born 26 August 1970, Jason Little was a masterful centre who was one of the greats of the game. Although he represented Australia at junior level in athletics and cricket, he ultimately chose to play rugby.
During the 1980s and 90s, Jason Little represented a number of the world’s top domestic sides, including Gloucester, Bristol and Souths. In the Super Rugby era, he also represented Queensland Reds and the New South Wales Waratahs.
Although he was highly distinguished at the domestic level, Jason Little truly shone on the international stage. Between 1989 and 2000, he was capped 75 times by Australia. During this time, he won two Rugby World Cups.
Jason Little made his international debut at the age of 19 and immediately became a breakout star. In fact, he and his partner at centre Tim Horan became such a formidable duo that they were once asked to undertake mock ceremonies pledging their allegiance to rugby union. Although both received multiple and lucrative offers to switch codes, neither ever did.
After retiring from international duty, Jason Little finished his playing career in England. Upon his retirement, he then undertook a course in land management at the Royal Agricultural College. Following this, he returned to Australia. He now runs an industrial property development company in North Shore, Sydney. He and Tim Horan have also remained close friends.
