Bio

Julien Marchand is a hooker with undeniable strength. The French rugby player trained at US Montréjeau before joining the Toulouse training centre in 2009. He has represented Toulouse professionally since 2014 and he made his first appearance for France in 2018.

Born 10 May 1995, Marchand began his rugby career by training at US Montréjeau for five years. He then moved to Toulouse to continue his training as a hooker. During the 2016-17 Top 14 season, he appeared for Toulouse 21 times and concluded the season with a total of four tries.

Marchand extended his contract with Toulouse in October 2017, committing him to the club until 2021, and in the 2018/19 season, he became Toulouse’s team captain (this role has since been taken by Antoine Dupont).

In October 2018, he was called up to the France senior squad. He made multiple appearances for the team before failing to secure a place in the Rugby World Cup squad. However, he did return to the international set-up for the 2020 Six Nations.

He featured for Toulouse during their two recent European Rugby Champions Cup successes (2021 and 2024) and their Top 14 titles (2021, 2023 and 2024).

Julien Marchand has displayed outstanding leadership and strength during his career so far and we’re excited to see what’s next for the hooker.
