Brumbies Rugby

The Brumbies, formerly known as the ACT Brumbies and officially known as the Plus500 Brumbies for sponsorship reasons, represent the ACT and parts of New South Wales in Super Rugby. They're named after the wild horses that inhabit the region.

Not only are the Brumbies a hugely popular side, but they're also wildly successful. They're one of only two Super Rugby teams to win 200 games and they've won the competition outright on three occasions.

Read on to discover even more about Brumbies Rugby. On this page you can see the side's upcoming fixtures and latest results. Plus, you can also learn more about the history of the team.

Although the Brumbies are now one of Super Rugby's most popular sides, the team was initially expected to perform poorly. This is because it was made from players who had been rejected from the other Australian teams in the Super Rugby tournament (then known as the Super 12).

However, the Brumbies Rugby side was competitive immediately. Ever since, they have confounded expectations and they've now enjoyed more success than all the other Australian sides in the tournament. In fact, they reached the final five times in their first 10 years in the competition and missed out once on a tiebreaker. In total, the Brumbies Rugby team have reached the final of the competition seven times and won the tournament on three occasions. Not bad for a team who thought they were 'little brothers' back in 199

Due to the continued success of the Brumbies Rugby team over the years, a number of established international players have represented the team, including former Australian internationals Stephen Moore, Ewen McKenzie and George Gregan.

In fact, to this date the Brumbies Rugby side is full of Australian internationals. The current Brumbies squad includes props James Slipper and Scott Sio, hooker Folau Fainga'a and scrum-half Nic White.
