The Top 14 is one of the most renowned rugby union leagues in Europe. As the name suggests, the league is contested by the top 14 rugby teams in France. Held every year between September and June, the Top 14 is played in a round-robin format and teams progress to a knockout stage. The final is then held at the Stade de France.

The French National Rugby League (LNR) uses a different bonus point system to other rugby union competitions. In the Top 14, a bonus point is awarded to a team that scores at least three tries more than their opponent. Additionally, a losing bonus point is given to the team that loses by five points or less.
